This 68"(173cm) quilt design by Amanda Whitsel is meant to be very scrappy, so you can use fabrics from your stash. Pick a color scheme with light colors and dark colors, with a contrast color, then collect the necessary number of prints in each of those colors. This pattern is based on the four patch, a traditional patchwork design. Instead of requiring machine piecing with curved seams, this quilt uses inset patches with bias tape, which are laid over the four patch blocks to create a very unique version of a classic American favorite.
Amanda made Scarlett’s Knotwork Nine Patch pattern, then tried applying what she’d learned to the classic four patch block design.
