Scarlett's easy to piece modern quilt design was inspired by the traditional Irish symbol, Brigid’s Cross, which is hand woven out of rushes, reeds or straw and displayed in kitchens to protect against fire. This simple patchwork design is the first of Scarlett’s interpretations of Celtic/Irish/Scottish symbols for quilters.
This lap size quilt features 12” blocks, set together in straight rows with a 6” pieced border and a 3” plain border. The pieced border is made up of two different pieced border blocks that alternate and a pieced corner block.
The machine quilting design used on the sample quilt is included in the pattern!
