This is the first collection of eight different mini spoons.  They measure from  0.78" x 3.76" (20mm x 95mm) to 0.78" x 3.9" (20mm x 99mm) in size and have approximately 3,500 stitches to each design. The designs are all done with two colors for the cross stitching. One color is for the main body of the spoon and a slightly darker color for the bowl.  Black is used for the backstitching.

The inspiration for this collection came from two sources: baby spoons and Welsh Love Spoons. Many people have the silver baby spoons that were given to their parents at the time of their birth or to the babies themselves for a first birthday present.  A keepsake to treasure!

Welsh Love Spoons are given as gifts by young Welshmen to their prospective brides. There is a whole symbology tied into these love spoons, with very traditional meanings given to particular symbols that were hand carved into wooden spoons. Nowadays, many of these are purchased as a souvenir by visitors to Wales.

The samples in the picture were stitched on white cotton with a Brother ULT.
